Engagement Sessions in Colorado

An engagement session isn’t just about photos. It’s the first time you get to just be together in front of a camera without an audience, a timeline, or a hundred things to manage. It’s where you figure out that you don’t need to pose — you just need to show up.

By your wedding day, you’ll know exactly how this works.

What Makes a Great Engagement Session

Location

Colorado gives us a lot to work with. Garden of the Gods. Rocky Mountain National Park. A wildflower meadow at 10,000 feet. A coffee shop in downtown Colorado Springs. The right location isn’t about impressing people — it’s about picking somewhere that feels like you. Somewhere you’d actually want to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Timing

The hour before sunset is magic. The light goes warm and directional, everything looks better, and you’ll stop noticing the camera because you’re just trying not to squint. Most sessions run 60–90 minutes and we’ll time them around that window.

What to Wear

Wear something you’d feel good in on a nice dinner out — elevated, but not stiff. Colors that complement each other without matching exactly. Avoid bold logos or anything you’ll spend the whole session tugging at. If you’re not sure, send me a photo and I’ll tell you what I think.

What to Expect

We’ll walk, we’ll talk, I’ll give you a few prompts and then get out of the way. Most couples are a little awkward for the first ten minutes and then completely forget I’m there. That’s when the real photos happen.
